hey there!
I want to intercept traffic coming out of an application running in a docker container. Is this possible? do you know how?
My application does not support setting up an http proxy.
I tried running mitmweb in another docker container with a static IP address, and using the
extra-hosts
on docker-compose to direct traffic going to the domain I was interested in, to the IP address of the docker container running mitmweb in transparent mode. When I executed a request from my application container, the request was sent into the mitmweb container, but mitmweb got stuck in a loopReading the documentation https://docs.mitmproxy.org/stable/howto-transparent/ I found out that we need to setup some networking configuration with sysctl and iptables. These were not available on mitmproxy image, I tried installing them with apt-get, but anyways I got these two errors
Do you know if it is possible to run mitmweb in a docker container in transparent mode?
Would you recommend a different strategy to intercept traffic coming out of my application?
I tried local mode, which sounded very promising, but I don't have permission on my laptop to install a system extension #6788
