Inconsistent Python versions across environment descriptors #337

Describe the bug
If you create a conda environment with the .environment yaml file, the python version is pinned to 3.12.1

But most of the Python packages listed in requirements are not compatible with Python 3.12

But deploying the codebase on Github Codespaces works because the official jupyter notebook container the devcontainer.json is based on has Python 3.10 preinstalled

  1. Go to '...'
  2. Click on '....'
  3. Scroll down to '....'
  4. See error
