[ASK] Question about license of the fridge dataset for object detection #639

Hi team,
I am Francesco, a contributor to the open-source IceVision library for object detection.
The framework was originally developed, and is being currently maintained, by Farid and Lucas.
In a nutshell, the purpose of IceVision is to democratize access to the notoriously complex domain of object detection, providing a set of tools to streamline the end-to-end ML pipeline, from data parsing, to model training and deployment.

I am writing on behalf of the three of us for a request around the Fridge Dataset (FD), which you kindly put together and made available to the public.
Given its size and simplicity, FD is the ideal toy candidate for entry-level examples, reason why we are currently using it for several IceVision tutorials (here and here).
In the last couple of weeks, we noticed that the URL we fetch FD from, is often unavailable, creating frustration and friction among our users.
Therefore, we were wondering if we were allowed to make a copy of it and store it on our open-source repo.
Given we couldn't find the dataset's license, we obviously wanted to check if that wouldn't violate any restrictions, first.

Is this request reasonable?
Are we allowed to create a copy of FD and make it publicly accessible from within IceVision?

In thanking you for your great contributions to open-source, we wish you a pleasant week ahead.
Looking forward to your response!

Hi Francesco, apologies for this. We had to move the data to a new location, but should be stable again.

@PatrickBue just to make sure, is this the correct link?

I am trying and it doesn't seem to work.

If not, what is the new location please?
Thanks and have a great day ahead!

Ah, it seems this is the new location, right?

Also, would you see as reasonable the possibility of hosting the dataset ourselves on our repo?
I didn't find the license, which is why I was not sure we were allowed to do that.
