Minify CSS
This plugin requires Grunt >=0.4.0
If you haven't used Grunt before, be sure to check out the Getting Started guide, as it explains how to create a Gruntfile as well as install and use Grunt plugins. Once you're familiar with that process, you may install this plugin with this command:
npm install grunt-contrib-cssmin --save-dev
Once the plugin has been installed, it may be enabled inside your Gruntfile with this line of JavaScript:
grunt.loadNpmTasks('grunt-contrib-cssmin');
Issues with the output should be reported on the clean-css issue tracker.
Run this task with the grunt cssmin
command.
Options are passed to clean-css. In addition this task defines some extra options:
Type: string
Choices: 'min'
, 'gzip'
Default: 'min'
Report minification result or both minification and gzip results.
This is useful to see exactly how well clean-css is performing but using 'gzip'
will make the task take 5-10x longer to complete. Example output.
Type: boolean
Choices: true
, false
Default: false
Enable Source Maps.
Type: boolean
, function
Choices: true
, false
, function
Default: undefined
Method for processing existing sourceMap. When set to true cssmin
looks for the location of the sourceMap by parsing the sourceMappingURL
and reading that file from disk (relative to input CSS file).
When a function is supplied cssmin calls this function with the filename of the input CSS file as argument. The function is expected to return a value that is supplied to clean-css
as sourceMap
argument. See clean-css documentation for further explanation.
Note: this property only works when sourceMap
is also set to true.
