Sub-collections collapse when a parent collection is clicked in sidebar

Describe the bug
When the collection hierarchy is viewable (eg. browsing a sub-collection), clicking on the parent collection in the sidebar hides the list of sub-collections.

To Reproduce

1. Create a collection with a sub-collection
2. Click the arrow to view the list of sub-collections
3. Click on the parent collection, and the hierarchy gets hidden in the sidebar

Expected behavior
I expected to see the links inside the parent collection, without the list of sub-collections being collapsed.

Additional context
If this happens to be intended functionality, it would be nice if it could be disabled as it makes it very hard to work with sub-collections currently.
