I'd rather just leave the sidebar always-available when navigating the app, and maybe have it toggle open/closed on demand, rather than automatically. Having to go find the "back" button for some views to be able to get back to the top level navigation feels cumbersome sometimes, and I can often find myself losing track of where I was trying to go in the process if I clicked e.g. "search" by mistake.

The sidebar also shows the current block height which for me is nice to always be able to keep track of visually (to notice when it moves).
