Is there tutorial anywhere that demonstrates how to apply these tools?

Well that helps, I guess I was looking for a tutorial where you start from scratch and build an app that applies some of these things. Application declaration file, customizable log system, source map support etc.. I just noticed that there is an "example-app" in the source code so I'll take a look at that too.
