I believe there is a typo in the solution for Exercise 27.3.2 specifically with regards to creating a footnote. Instead of:
The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.[^quick-fox]
It should read:
The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.^[quick-fox]

Note that [^quick-fox] shows up one more time later in the solution.
