Describe the bug
Redshift stopped working on OpenSUSE Tumbleweed upgrade. I'm not sure on which upgrade it stopped working but it was fully functional until July. Looks like a problem with XAUTHORITY but those error messages gives me no idea where to dig.

To Reproduce

  1. Install and upgrade OpenSUSE Tumbleweed
  2. Use KDE5 Plasma desktop
  3. Install sudo zypper in redshift
  4. Run redshift -o -b 1:1

Error output/logs/screenshots

Trying to run from systemd or cli (like redshift -o -b 1:1) returns following:

Authorization required, but no authorization protocol specified

Authorization required, but no authorization protocol specified

`RANDR Query Version' returned error -1
Initialization of randr failed.
Trying next method...

X request failed: XOpenDisplay
Initialization of vidmode failed.

No more methods to try.

xrandr --output HDMI-1 --gamma 0.9 works as expected

Software versions (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Linux
  • Redshift version: 1.12
  • Distribution: OpenSUSE Tumbleweed
  • Redshift installed from: zypper Main Repository (OSS)
