I have been using "redshift -O 3000" command since last 2-3 years on Ubuntu 18.04. Recently I have updated my Ubuntu to 22.04 and the same command "redshift -O 3000" does not change the colour temperature of my screen.

It gives following message:

Failed to start adjustment method wayland.
Trying next method...
Using method `randr'.

I have tried following things:

  1. "redshift -O 3000 -m "
method = wayland, drm, randr, vidmode, dummy
    but nothing seems to work.
  2. One hack that I got to know was to change the NVIDIA driver by going to "settings -> about -> software updates -> additional drivers -> ", restart the system and then try "redshift -O 3000". Luckily it worked. But it worked until I restarted my system again and after restart, redshift stopped working. Changing driver every time and restarting system is not a good option. Not sure what exactly happens after driver change and initial restart, and why it stops working after next system restart. Software versions: OS: Linux Redshift version: 1.12 Distribution: Ubuntu 22.04 Redshift installed from: apt-get (i guess, not sure tough)
