Is there a way to (quickly) open a directory with a tool?

My editor supports opening entire directories instead of just file, but so far the best way to open them I can find is

• go to parent directory
• select the directory I wish to open
• hit O
• type my editor name
• type c for cli

Which is generally quite frustrating. Is there a better way?

You can write a simple plugin for this and invoke that plugin via alt+KEY - where KEY is whatever key you assigned that plugin via NNN_PLUG env var.
