The DBRP mapping system in InfluxDB Cloud Dedicated is different than the DBRP system in Serverless. We need to add documentation about how it works in Dedicated and address the following details:

  • Database naming convention (db-name/rp-name)
  • InfluxQL queries with fully-qualified measurement names (db_name.rp_name.measurement) and default RP shorthand (db_name..measurement)
  • How default RPs work
