I am not very familiar with Apache proxy, does it have any setting to limit the body size to have a certain size? |

Can you also check this guide out? https://immich.app/docs/administration/reverse-proxy#apache-example-config |

I don't know if there is a specific file size limit for Apache reverse proxy, I could not find any. I also checked Apache error, access and request logs and there is nothing anywhere in the logs at the time I got the notifications on the phone. I do see the requests of the app when I started and used it, so the Apache logs are working. In the meantime, I took a new photo and it did not get uploaded in the background after 10 hours, so the background sync really is not working. Then I started the app and it uploaded the photo immediately without issues. I am also wondering why I do not see any log entries in the app's log for the failed background sync. Is this normal? I am using your guide as base for my Apache config. I had just configured everything inside a location tag. |

I now tried using the local network Immich docker URL and with that, the background sync works. Then I switched to using Caddy instead of Apache as reverse proxy and the background sync fails also. So, it is either the invalid SSL cert (although I disabled SSL verification in the app) or the reverse proxy setup of Apache and Caddy. But I do not understand, why foreground sync always works with all setups and background sync fails. This I think should be seen as a bug. And it does not help that background sync does not write into the log. |

The bug
I get a notification on my iPhone that Immich background sync starts. Shortly after, I get another notification that background sync failed.
However, there are no new photos to sync since last time I synced manually.
When I then start the app, the manual backup start button is disabled, of course, because there are no new photos.
For the time when I got the 2 notifications (12:18), there is nothing in the app log.
I started the app at 12:20.
