Demographic Relevance: pt-BR is the most widely spoken form of the language, owing to Brazil's population significantly surpassing that of Portugal and other Portuguese-speaking countries. Context:
Brazil has around 211 million inhabitants, whereas Portugal has around 10 million. Even when considering other Portuguese-speaking countries that use pt-PT [European Portuguese], they likely do not exceed 10% of the BR population.)
Significant Linguistic Differences: For Brazilians, pt-pt not only sounds very archaic, but the meanings of many words are different from those used in Brazil. Context:
Specifically regarding the translation of the extension interface, while in English it is 'Add', in pt-BR it is 'Adicionar'. However, when selecting 'Portuguese' in the extension, the translation is 'aumentar' (I believe this is a translation error, as even in the archaic Portuguese, namely pt-PT [European Portuguese], it should be the same translation as in pt-BR). Another classic example of the significant translation differences between pt-BR and pt-PT is 'mouse' (device). In pt-BR, it is 'mouse' (many technical terms in pt-BR are not usually translated), whereas in pt-PT, it is 'rato'. Although in another context 'mouse' (animal) is 'rato' (animal) in pt-BR, in the technical context, it sounds strange.
Improved User Experience: Currently, pt-BR speakers do not have their linguistic specifics adequately addressed by the extension, which can lead to misunderstandings and a suboptimal user experience.

Options for Portuguese (Brazil) should be added for both Interface Language and Target Language settings. Additionally, a thorough review and adaptation of existing translations are crucial to ensure they reflect correct and contemporary usage of Brazilian Portuguese. Collaborating with native speakers to validate the proposed translations would be ideal.
