Oddly, LARGE-sized IIAB installed (except for Transmission i.e. torrenting) as of 2024-05-01! Recap:

  1. VM was created by running...

    multipass launch https://cloud.debian.org/images/cloud/trixie/daily/latest/debian-13-generic-amd64-daily.qcow2 -n deb13 -c 2 -m 2G -d 20G --bridged

  2. For now, it remains necessary to add line VERSION_ID="13" in /etc/os-release so that IIAB can recognize this pre-release OS.

    As mentioned under: https://github.com/iiab/iiab/wiki/IIAB-Platforms#debian-13

  3. Transmission (torrenting) apt package(s) are not yet available for Debian 13 Trixie, so that Ansible role was bypassed, by setting these 2 variables to False in /etc/iiab/local_vars.yml :

    transmission_install: False
    transmission_enabled: False

Reconfirmation that apt packages transmission-daemon and transmission-cli are not yet available:

    root@deb13:~# apt list "*transmission*"
    elpa-transmission/testing 0.12.2-1 all
    libtransmission-client-perl/testing 0.0806-2 all
    python-transmissionrpc-doc/testing 7.0.3-2 all
    python3-transmissionrpc/testing 7.0.3-2 all
    transmission-remote-gtk/testing 1.5.1-1+b1 amd64

  4. Post-install iiab-diagnostics summary/logs/recap: http://sprunge.us/24ecyW?en

CONCLUSION: While surprisingly pleasant news (on the surface!) the bigger take home message is that Debian 13... still has a long way to go... until it migrates from Python 3.11 to 3.12 or 3.13, and migrates from PHP 8.2 to 8.3 or 8.4, ETC! 😉
