Normally when I think of displacement, like when using Displace Modifier or using displace on render, I would think of material and also the normal of displacement based on UV or direction specified with modifier.

However with UMOG, because the way Blender handless Texture Image data block without material is a bit strange, I wonder how to see and predict where the displacement will happen?

Let say I have a checked board, displacing it multiple time will always ended with blobby. Can't we perhaps displace the checked board in 2 direction up and down, practically pushing it up and down only?

I'm planning to expose the normal and texture coordinates for the next release. This takes a bit more work, since they way I think about it is that there should be vector or UV socket types
