Text scale for metadata plots #249

Hi there,

I'm not sure if I'm just missing this, but I can't seem to set the text.scale for a metadata histogram. Is there a specific option I should be using? Example plot below, see the tiny text on the left:

And somewhat related, is there a way to customize the axis limits on the metadata plots?
