Summary

I would love to be able to search for tokens and native programs by their names e.g. 'USDC coin' and 'system program' respectively.

Basic Example

got to the search bar and instead of inputting an address you input the name of the token or program

Drawbacks

  • it would be a good feature for folks who have been targeted by phishing attacks and want to confirm the correct address of particular tokens.
  • a possible challenge would be to check for genuine tokens that are not part of a scheme but the jupiter token lists exits

good request! It's 100% worth looking into this. I think eventually we should for sure have some sort of "smart search" where it shows you nfts/tokens/programs by searching the name but I also don't want it to ruin the user experience of just being able to input a signature and press enter and being sent to the page they want to go to instead of being sent to the autocompleted input if that makes sense. It's one thing I slightly found annoying with other explorers. idk if any of that made sense but those are my general thoughts.

ig tldr: if it can be made well without compromising other user experiences it should be done imo

also the jupiter token list or something of that sorts would probably be ideal for that.

This is nice. Had not tried the signature feature request.

馃挴 agree with you.

both of the last two feature requests are good and worth looking into if you're interested trying them out
