@tortuetorche, @rickmclean, @yasavilar please could you throw some name proposals in? |
I really like PortCTL. Unfortunately, somebody else liked it too first :'(. This project is a Portainer CLI client too, and is written in Go. There is also a PortCTL Billing Software. |
Portainer logo represents a container crane. I think something related to crane operation would fit: A a plus, both namespaces are available in GitLab. |
Grutier sounds good to me 👍 |
Hi there, as the co-founder of Portainer, im pretty happy to see these ecosystem tools being built around our product. Im totally ok if you want to call it “stack utils for Portainer” or something like that. Just make sure its not misleading that its a Portainer issued product, and no issues with you using the name Portainer. |
Pretty happy to help on a technical level if you need. Just drop me a message :-) |
Hi @ncresswell and @deviantony! What a nice surprise this morning reading your messages. Thank you @ncresswell for clarifying things about using the Portainer name. @deviantony thanks for your support, I will ping you soon 😄 And thank you both for making Portainer happen. |
Since the beginig of the times this project's name has been "Portainer Stack Utils", which describes what it is and what it does. In order to avoid possible future legal issues with Portainer registered trademark it should be renamed to something that does not include "Portainer". Also, it has evolved to include more than just "stacks", so the name should not limit to "Stack Utils". Whatever name we come up with, it should be reflected by the executable's name (currently
psu
), which should keep short and easy to type.Proposals are welcome
