[BUG] Wrong total investment #3330
Comments
Hi @9acca9 Thank you for the report. Can you please attach a minimal export file to reproduce this scenario? |
The current USD/ARS rate is 873.25. If you take your purchase costs and divide by today's exchange rate you get 32.96. The answer here is that it appears that "Investment" is not calculated based on the exchange rate at the time of investment, but on today's exchange rate. I see the same issue on all of my holdings. |
Yes, also in my case, i just use Etsy as an example. |
Hi @dtslvr I've attached a minimal export file that reproduces the same issue as described in this bug (albeit a different example to OP's, given that I have a different base currency (NZD)). In this example 1000 INTC shares are purchased on 05/05/2023 at the opening price of $31.38 USD. On that day the USD/NZD exchange rate was 0.6275. This gave a purchase cost of $50,007.96 NZD on 05/05/2023. However we can see that Ghostfolio reports the investment total as $52,194.35 NZD, which is based on today's USD/NZD exchange rate (0.6012). Hope this helps. |
Hi.
Im trying the last ghostfolio.
I dont understand some value. It seems wrong.
Look at "Investment" 32,96 USD
3/8 5x3060 = $15300
2/8 1x3368 = $3368
2/8 3x3369 = $10107
lets take a look at the USD that days:
Then:
3/8 5x3060 = $15300 / 585,41 = 26,13
2/8 1x3368 = $3368 / 576,70 = 5,84
2/8 3x3369 = $10107 / 576,70 = 17,52
.............................................................49,49
Total investment = 49,49
So, why they dont coincide?
What could be happening?
Thanks.
