I thought it was just me. Very annoying.

It seems to be related to #1778. The script with the fixes from that issue should be live. If it's not, install using the scripts/install script from this repo

git clone https://github.com/getumbrel/umbrel ~/umbrel-repo
bash ~/umbrel-repo/scripts/install

This issue, it turns out, also occurs when you try to install an already installed app. Try to remove all umbrel containers and run the installer again

Umbrel 1.0 does not support Linux yet. #1781

I guess since they released v1.0 support on custom hardware the issue should be marked as closed.
