Use nginx -s reload or systemd reload nginx instead of restart

I've faced the situation, when my nginx installation stops slower than certbot renews certificates.
So nginx will not start with the error like, it isn't stopped yet, or pid file is already exists.

Is not it enough to use reload, it's more safe, and it will use only post stage of renewing ?
