Side Quests are all things unrelated to code. They worked well for Formbricks during our FormTribe hackathon.

Side quests:

can be used for technical writing, marketing activities, design work, fun community stuff, etc
can be submitted by every player (or a fixed number of times e.g. 10x)
are usually handled outside of GitHub
can loop in a lot more people who want to get involved with open source without having to overload the eng team with reviews

Since it's not diiirectly related to engineering, we'll push this out a bit.
