The countdown date has passed, leading to the countdown (default theme), to say 0 days, 0 hours, 0 minutes, 0 seconds. The default letter is also out of date. Maybe change the default dates/letter reflect the CRA expiry date?

I would like to remove the battleforthenetwidget from two of my websites and can't figure out how to do it. They are leathersmtihe.com and penderconservancy.org

battleforthenetwidget was supposed to time-out (and may have been updated) but I would like now to remove it.

Hey @leathersmithe, you need to delete this line from the source code of your sites:

<script src="https://widget.battleforthenet.com/widget.js" async></script>

It looks like that's sitting above the "Dedicated to Protecting & Preserving Special Places for Future Generations" text on penderconservancy.org.

Thanks, kenmickles. Sandvox (Mac program) doesn't allow me to edit (or even see) HTML. However, the website builder uses an "inspector", and a "sidebar" which listed an unfamiliar "HTML" comment along with the graphic and text additions I have made. I removed that comment (which said only that it was an HTML insert) and the battleforthenet disappeared! However, leathersmithe.com does NOT have that same nor a similar one, so I'm still stuck with it on that site. I think I'll need an HTML editor but am unsure of how to use that with, or separately from, the Sandvox program, since I'll have to provide info to edit my site.

@leathersmithe Cool. Glad you got the one site sorted out. I'm not familiar with Sandvox, but I see in source code code for leathersmithe.com that the widget script is sitting above the "Discoveries of sophisticated implements such as leather-burnishing tools..." text, if that helps.

In Safari, Chrome, and FireFox on Mac you can press command+option+u to view the source code of your website. Then you can press command+f to search that code for https://widget.battleforthenet.com/widget.js. That might help you track down the script in Sandvox.

Useful knowledge! I found it on line 664. Now, if I could figure out some way to edit the HTML I could delete that line. I think I need an HTML editor that will allow me to make changes directly to my site.

I think I figured out how to do it but must wait until tomorrow to try: it popped up only ONCE a day, so I can't test it until then.

Hot-damn, kenmickles, I seem to have done it! Thanks, I owe my success to you.
