Describe the Problem

Hello. Here is the code:
this._auction = new ethers.Contract(
auctionAddress.DutchAuction,

this._provider.getSigner(0)
)
Then I try to do the following:
this.chekPriceInterval = setIntervalAsync(async() => {

Keep in mind in v6, that getSigner() returns a Promise. Can you try adding an await?

Nice, I had ethers updated to v6 by accident, reverting to v5 solved the (immediate) issue 👌

Where must I add an await? Please, write me a concrete place.
Moreover, using console.log() I found, that an error appears here:
await this._auction.getPrice()
The problem is in connection with the contract

(await this._provider.getSigner(0)). You are passing a Promise in as your runner. :)

P.S.: what must I use instead ethers.BigNumber. What is written in documentation is not clear because of the following thing:

I need to convert to BigNumber of BigInt the following thing:

In v6, there is no longer a custom BigNumber class. You just use ES2020 BigInt, which is built into JavaScript. You would likely want (await this._auction.startAt()) * 1000n; notice the n suffix on the number. :)

All values in BigInt math, must be a BigInt.

Since Date.now() returns a number, you must convert it to a BigInt first, for example BigInt(Date.now()).

It doesn't matter what operation you are performing, subtraction, multiplication or whatever, you must ensure it is converted to a BigInt (which ensures that there is now IEEE 754 floating approximation loss).

Actually this issue is just because of the confusion between provider and signer parameters in the code const contract = new ethers.Contract(contractAddress, ABI, provider)

Plus you need to make sure that signer variable is always initialized or defined in this way const signer = await provider.getSigner() which makes a compulsory move to get thatsigner under a asynchronized function i.e async like one of the user above recommended.

Anyways back to our issue, We got two types of functions in our solidity contract, one is read-only function that includes keywords such as pure and view, and other are those which changes the state and are called state-changing transactions or functions.
Well, provider is used during the calls of read-only functions and signer is used with state-changing ones..
