Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

The current functionality of Espo CRM does not allow for seamless playback of audio files within the system. When attempting to access audio files uploaded to the attachment field or stream, they are automatically downloaded instead of being readily playable. This inconvenience disrupts the user experience and makes it difficult to access and review audio content efficiently. Additionally, the absence of audio recording features within the CRM hinders effective communication and documentation, particularly in scenarios where verbal communication is crucial for future reference. Therefore, the requested features aim to address these limitations and enhance the usability and effectiveness of Espo CRM.

Describe the solution you'd like

The solution I am proposing involves the integration of two key features into Espo CRM:

Audio Playback Functionality: Implement a feature that allows users to play audio files directly within the CRM interface, without the need for manual downloading. This would streamline the process of accessing and reviewing audio content, enhancing user convenience and efficiency.

Audio Recording Feature: Introduce a capability for users to record audio directly within Espo CRM. This feature would enable users to capture verbal communication, such as meetings or discussions, and store it within the CRM system for future reference. It would facilitate effective communication and documentation, contributing to improved workflow and productivity.

By incorporating these features, Espo CRM would offer a comprehensive solution for managing audio content, enhancing usability, and meeting the diverse needs of its users.

I think that this should be an extension of the attachments multiple/file fields, to allow playback of audio files.

I have a customization in my WhatsApp integration to play back voice messages in this way.

Both Chrome and FF open an audio file in a new tab and play it.

Okay got it. But it would be better if user could record the audio from multiple file fields

Maybe. But I'm not sure it's worth implementing now. We have more important things and not enough resources. I checked other big CRMs with 100x budget, they don't have such a feature. Maybe there's a browser extension that could substitute the functionality?

@yurikuzn
If you like this feature to be added to core and don’t have the time we can share it as pull request, we already implemented it in our chat module.
Or you may prefer it to produced as 3rd party extension

I'm not sure whether we need it yet as I don't see it as a killer feature. Once added, we are to support the functionality forever. Adding a new feature often takes dozen of hours of evaluating.

There many ways to implement it, attachment, separate note type. I don't want to hurry. Maybe in the future, after spending some time thinking about the feature, we will implement it. But I don't want to hurry. We were hurrying in early days, and as a result spent years just to rewrite many things.

Thank you so much for your response. I appreciate your consideration. I understand your perspective on the need for evaluating new features thoroughly before implementation. I'll await further updates
