OK, I got clangd installed, but where does ~/Sources come from?

This is a great guide but after running the configure stage of project setup I got a message in the terminal saying 'You seem to be running X, but no X development libraries were found.' so I passed --without-x and it worked. However now The LSP mode and company mode aren't working. What can I do to get it working?

In addition, after adding (require 'lsp-clients) to my config I get a warning saying 'File is missing: Cannot open load file, No such file or directory, lsp-clients'

Turns out LSP mode only works if your file is in a project

I need to run a source command before running the debugger. I tried using preLaunchTask, which seems to run on a different terminal to the one that gdb runs in, meaning that it has no effect.

Here it's stated that a known workaround is to edit .bashrc so that source <your file> is run each time a terminal is launched. This does work on VSCode, but not in emacs.

Has anyone found a solution?
