Merging within deeply nested structures with possibly different merge strategies

I'm looking to use DynaConf in a project where I will have multiple settings files that I will need to merge, however it appears (unless I'm wrong) the current merge behaviour of DynaConf is too limited. I would like to be able to merge a list nested deeply in a JSON object for example and have the list elements get appended to the corresponding object in the other config being merged into. But of course this is only one strategy. Sometimes I will need to overwrite the target list with the merging list.

I saw in the docs that merging only works for top level keys at the moment. I'm curious about the desire to merge deeply as described with possibly different merge strategies.

Omit or negate the dynaconf_merge in the file and you get the overwrite

One thing that is still under development and is the ability to insert at desired index, for now it only appends,

Sorry. It seems I've misunderstood the documentation. It's clear from your example that it's possible to do what I want, although I'm just working through some of the details now
