If a curated list of top organisations could be placed in this repo, it would be valuable to anybody wishing to contribute to open source.
Meta, Google, Oracle, Linux, and so on.
These organisations have some of the most popular projects in a variety of fields. People who follow them will also receive regular updates on their activities.
