Initialization methods and cross initialization method

Hi DICe community,
Thank you for this very useful tool !

I'm using DICe V3.0-beta.8 in stereo correlation.
I'm searching information about the cross initialization method and the initialization methods which are two different parameters in the params.xml file.
When do they respectively take place in the correlation process ?
Is there any other cross initialization methods available (other than "USE_SPACE_FILLING_ITERATIONS")?

I'm asking these questions because I'm not able to find out why my tensile test images cannot be analysed using "feature_matching" or "field_values", but can by "image_registration"…
