Downloading file #243

I use an api call from the frontend to the backend to trigger a download of PDF file.

I get an response but it's just plain text eg.:
%PDF-1.4
1 0 obj

How do I make this downloadable for the user?

I think this may be related to #264, you might need to send this request with an iFrame.
