digital devices - deal with 1s and 0s analog - deal with continious devices, often these circuits can do things like following a line without using a microprocessor

voltage regulator regulates voltage amplifiers - amplify op amp - operational amplifiers

ceramic capacitors, electrolytic capacitors (cylinderical)

bjt - bipolar junction transistor

the TI msp430g2 launchpad is based on a MSP430G2553 microcontroller, programmable in C

hello world program - the blinking led connect battery, resistor and a led, it shall light

you can use the voltage regulator (LM 1086) in order to convert the 9V input to a 3.3V output it has IN, OUT and GND. that’s it they need capacitors as well. why?

potentiometer - variable resistance based on how much you turn the knob

ideal ammeters are suppose to have zero voltage difference across them this means that resistors have voltage difference across them which is equal to i*R across them

the wheatstone that can be used to measure unknown resistances

amplifiers

open-loop amplifier known as the comparator Comparators are active devices, meaning that they must be powered to function.

ground is a reference point, we pick a node in a circuit as a reference point and all other voltages are given wrt to the ground. it is much like we choose ground as the zero potential energy and potential energy of everything else wrt to it

by definition voltage is not an absolute quantity but rather the difference in electric potential between two locations it is sometimes convenient to select a reference point in the circuit, label it ground, and then speak of the voltage at any point in the circuit with respect to that ground point

comparator - drawn as triangles V+ and V- at back, 1 output at opp vertex Vout Vout = f(V+, V-)

the function can be anything, linear non linear etc in linear, f() is just a constant (open loop gain)

we use a diamond shape (rhombus) to show for a non constant voltage source

now as the amplifier amplifies, it needs a power source to function the amplifier can have limits, and if the amplified output is higher than the limits, the output is capped to the limit
