The reason of why it fails is that the default flags for CRYSTAL_OPTS is --exclude-warnings none --error-on-warnings --error-trace, and there are a few warnings. The output is confusing, as it says

   Finished in 1.93 seconds
   692 examples, 0 failures, 0 errors, 0 pending

Yet it fails.
