Bug description

I cannot import private keys with ConnectBot

Steps to reproduce

Open ConnectBot

  1. Go to Menu > Manage keys
  2. Click on Open (folder icon)
  3. select a private key file
  4. The app does nothing (50%) or crashes (50%)

Expected behavior

The app should be able to open/import the private keys without crashing.

Android device

  • Device: Samsung Galaxy Tab 9 Ultra
  • OS: Android 14 / Version One UI 6
  • ConnectBot Version: 1.9.9

Additional context

  • I tried with rsa 2048, rsa 4096, ed25519 private keys. Same behavior.
  • I tried with my Google Pixel 6 and the same version of ConnectBot: No issue importing keys.
  • I don't see ConnectBot in the available list of apps that could/should have access to files (Permissions > Files); only the system file manager (same for Pixel 6). I suspect that ConnectBot can't open the selected privated key file.
