For those regular users having issues - USE SEARCH BEFORE POSTING!
It may be worth having a look on reddit as well r/youtubedl

For those of you who want to contribute or is somewhat familiar with programming
It helps a lot - not only me - if you test PRs as well and could possibly review it if you feel confident.
Don't hesitate to test PRs that don't address you as well.

If anyone could help me out with a VPN (e.g. N0rd) I would be thankful. It allows me to test geoblocked sites or try different regions as some sites (such as youtube) sometimes roll out their updates in different regions earlier or later.
If there is anything else you think you could help out with feel free to contact me either in chat or per email (github profile).

You can use Tor for avoiding geoblocks, if site doesn't block exits of course. Torsocks can be used for wrap any application in tor circuit. To change circuit (e.g. in case of 429) just run it again, it works if "IsolatePID" option in torsocks.conf is enabled.

I am very familiar with Python (in the sense I have used it for years) and would like to be kept in the loop. I am fairly busy these days but maybe I can help test some.b I use youtube-dl for downloading a lot of science videos from youtube but notice recently that they cut me off even though it was working recently. Mind you I haven't tested this form.

Cryptostorm has a free tier. The main relevant limitation is the bandwidth, but it shouldn't be a problem to test geoblocking (since you don't need to download the whole video).
