Have you considered packaging Bitcart as a service that can run on embassyOS?

embassyOS is a Linux distro that streamlines the installing and managing of self-hosted services. Users can one-click install Bitcoin core and a dozen lightning layer services - and BTCPay has been in the marketplace for a while.

Might want to check it out. They've got thousands of users - might be a shot in the arm for the project. I think package Dev is pretty minimal - seems to be writing a Dockerfile and some trivial manifests.

Thanks, I will check it!
Ideally though it would be cool if users of their OSes/Package managers/etc managed it, but I will look at it

I can tell you that the embassyOS team has said explicitly that, while they have packaged a few dozen services thus far, they prefer a future where most packages are produced and managed by the service's team. (A la Apple doesn't produce all the 3rd party apps in their AppStore)
