Could you let me know some more info about your self hosted setup please? With what is here, there's not a lot I can help with

1. What version are you using on the client and the server?
2. What config is on your server?
3. Have you tried checking the logs?

If you could add RUST_LOG: atuin_server=debug that would be great. Otherwise, what does your client config look like? Have you checked that your server is reachable from your client?
