I think that would a great addition. Maybe you want to add this on the forum to the Ideas category. You might gain some visibility there. |

Hello,
I'm using Atuin more, and while I've come up against a couple of rough edges I think it's great!
Something I'd love would be the ability to just select a few arguments from history.
Simple example
$ curl -k --cacert my_cert_path https://www.really-long-path.com/more/path?option=option
Then deciding I actually don't want
curl
, I'd rather usexh
to run the same command. Note that because it's tricky to work withatuin
and native shell history,alt-.
won't work to pull the last arg. My current workflow is to put the command back into the shell, navigate around with arrows deleting and replacing the bits I don't want.If I could
alt-.
to get the last arg, either fromatuin
or an interaction with native shell, that would be awesome.Complex example
To really supercharge history in a way that wasn't easily possible before, I'd love to be able to select a range of args with a visual cue. So after running my
curl
command, I have a way of grabbing a couple of different bits. Maybe I hit a key and then get a screen where I can type0 2 3 4
or0 2-4
to get the command without the-k
flag.Does anyone have any similar workflows?
I have some ideas for implementation if it was agreed to be useful, but wanted to gather feedback first!
