DatePicker: A way to increment the date without opening the panel?

Hi there,

I'm using the date picker, but can't seem to figure out how to affect the value without opening the panel and clicking, short of clicking the dom elements with code. I'd be fine to do that, but the problem is the dom elements aren't created until after the first time the date picker is opened.

Does anyone know of a way to increment the date and trigger an update on the date picker without opening and selecting a date?
