UI is sluggish

🐛 Bug

The UI seems to be very sluggish. I've attached a chrome trace.

There seem to be lots of calls like this:

To reproduce

Opening the metrics explorer with lots of charts.

Expected behavior

UI could be more responsive.

Environment

• Aim Version 3.19.2
• Python version 3.10
• pip version
• OS (e.g., Linux) Linux for backend, viewing on a Mac
• Any other relevant information: Chrome browser

For the above ellipsis issue, it seems a temporary workaround is just to use a larger screen as that allows the plot titles to be shown in full avoiding the ellipsis computation.
