Maybe it is something to pause renewing of certificates when they fail a few consecutive times, but without any changes and you would clearly see the status in ./acme.sh --list. You should be able to retry with ./acme.sh --renew -d xxxxxx.com (--force)
That would be good if eg. you temporary block public access to domains for maintenance or development etc. When you are developing you could temporary need a valid cert to check webhooks, api etc. In this stage you can whitelist providers ip's. Which is currently still a problem with cert providers.
