Dimmer troubleshooting

I have an issue with the pump turning on not from the first attempt. I.e you turn the machine on, flip the brew switch and pump is not starting, even though UI is switching to the brew screen.
When you switch brew off an on again it works.
I also can't hear any difference in the pump when I'm changing the pressure manually.
I've tried both 2.3.3 and dev branches.

Could it be a defective dimmer?
Or maybe there is some other known issue?

Dimmer was indeed faulty.
Bad solder joint didn't connect both layers of the PCB for N input.
Thus the dimmer was able to turn on and off but didn't detect zero crossing.
