It would be very handy to have toolbar buttons (that show their state) and keyboard shortcuts for View - Show Identical/Different/Left/Middle/Right unique items, as there's a lot of space on the toolbar for more buttons, and various action buttons I don't use because I use the keyboard. I would argue having buttons that show view state are much more important than action buttons because misremembering view state can cause mistaken decisions - for example if you'd switched off showing unique items and forgot that was the case (due eg to a telephone call or email distraction) you might return and treat the folder as matching when it isn't.
User customisable keyboard, tool bars, menus, is obviously the ultimate solution to what to put where.
