Describe the bug
When I clear Vinyl from my recents apps and no song is playing, the app is closed completely. The vinyl notification disappears and I cannot start playback via the play button on my bluetooth headset.

To reproduce

  1. Launch Vinyl
  2. Ensure no song is playing
  3. Open recent apps and remove Vinyl
  4. The notification disappears

Expected behavior
I would expect the notification to stay active and the app to remain responsive. Specifically, I would like the app to still respond to the play button on my bluetooth headset.

Right now I can work around this issue by first starting a song, the clearing the app and the pausing it (via media control button or the notification).

Device info

  • Device: Samsung Galaxy A40
  • Android Version: 11
  • ROM: One UI 3.1
  • Vinyl Music Player Version: 1.8.0

Additional context
I had already opened an issue regarding this behaviour, mistakenly believing that it was a missing feature rather than a bug.

Yes this is the intentional behaviour as of now.
I might add an option for this, with the cost of pumping the battery while idling
