how to let monaco-languageclient send textDocument/didOpen message?

Can you explain what you are trying to achieve? in what context? What do you mean by how to let ..., is it blocked? Do you want to mock it for tests?

However, I don't want to have to use 'monaco-editor-wrapper.'

These problems you run into is one of the main reason it exists, because it does all the setup and prevents common mistakes. You can just configure the languageclient like you need to. See python config which is just passed on to the languageclient: https://github.com/TypeFox/monaco-languageclient/blob/main/packages/examples/src/python/client/config.ts#L14-L46 monaco-langaugeclient is vscode-languageclient with the addition of vscode-jsonrpc over websocket.

I recommend using monaco-editor-wrapper for any new project and even highly recommend switching ongoing projects if not yet in maintenance phase, but I will bring back a simple example showing how to use monaco-languageclient directly. That is fair, I guess.

Hi @sailthesea what you see is like a mismatch between languageId and file extension. Try using import '@codingame/monaco-vscode-shellscript-default-extension' and make the languageId match shellscript.

Hi @kaisalmen thank you very much, that's right. If I use Verilog or Tcl language now, can I also use MonacoEditorLanguageClientWrapper? Verilog or Tcl language does not find the corresponding languageId and file extension.

@sailthesea currently the wrapper only supports one Languageclient (not talking about syntax highlighting, there can be many). If you need more than one language server, then you need to use a second editor. It may be a good idea to allow register multiple LS, but that's an enhancement and likely a breaking change (see new enhancement issue #677).
