Steps to reproduce

After I installed the following app the "open with" box only gives one option, that is the new app only, no chrome, YouTube etc.

  1. Install "web alert" from play store. Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.webalert
  2. Now any link opened in url check will only have one option to open with, and that one option is "web alert" app only. Screenshot attached.

Expected behavior

Multiple options should be present depending on the link. Before installing this app all was fine.

Actual behavior

Only one option in "Open with" box, and that is the "web alert" app only.

I think this is due to that app being set as the default one, because in that case Android reports that app as the only one.

Questions:

  1. Did you set UrlCheck as the default browser?
  2. Can you try opening that app android settings (android settings > all apps > Web Alert > info, or similar) and try to 'clear defaults' or toggle the 'open links on this app' or similar? (this step depends on your specific device, I don't know what OneUI requires, but you can search on the internet for samsung open supported links)

Setting UrlCheck as the default browser allows Chrome to be shown, but YouTube links are not showing YouTube, only Chrome and "web alert" show for YouTube links as well.

Edit: reinstalling YouTube and then restarting the phone seems to have fixed the issues.

Restarting phone would fix this issue not reinstalling YT. I used to restart if this occurs everytime

Similar issue here. UrlChecker is set as default browser.

Only Brave, Chrome and Samsung Internet are 'Open with' options. There should be many other options.

Restarting has worked in the past but after restarting the phone Samsung Internet is now the only 'Open with' option.

I am thinking the issue may not be with just UrlChecker because another app I use with similar functionality, FairEmail, is not detecting the other browsers either.

Did you recently install a new app?

No new apps were installed but I am always updating.

I think Brave was last updated before I noticed the issue.

So, does updating the browser can lead to this issue? 🤔

Try changing the default browser to something else, then restart phone.

Tried changing default browser and restarting multiple times with multiple browsers and back to UrlChecker as default before my original post in this issue and did not change.

Restarted again for good measure and UrlChecker seems to be back to normal.

Strange...
