XZ Service

OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion (and later) service to compress/decompress files with xz.

Install

  1. You need to install xz via Homebrew or via http://tukaani.org/xz/ to use XZ Service.

     brew install xz
    
  2. Download XZ Service

     git clone https://github.com/TheFox/xzservice.git
    
  3. Double click the xz.workflow item.

  4. After installation you will find a xz entry in the Finder Services section. Use this to compress and decompress files. Select multiple files to compress/decompress each one.
