Allow project sponsorship through GitHub Sponsors #611

The current active maintainer of MDE is @deathaxe. Former contributors like @maliayas and I have decided to drop off from the donations list (after 3.0.0 is released). Although this project is owned by SublimeText-Markdown, we as the members are just some random developers who devoted some time to make MDE better. So donating individuals, especially the current active maintainer, might just be the way to go for now. @deathaxe if you want to accept donations as we did, feel free to put your name on the donations list. |
Hi folks, I have been using MarkdownEditing for years, and would love to find a way to say thanks in the most sincere method possible: money. Especially with 3.0 in development, it feels like it's time.
While I could make donations to individual developers involved, I think it makes everyone feel better if sponsorships are focused on the project, not on people. (Maybe that's just me.)
Could you consider setting up the project to accept GitHub Sponsors? Getting started with GitHub Sponsors is a good article on the GitHub Blog that might be helpful with understanding what this is and how it might work.
I recognize there are complexities involving bank accounts, sharing funds between contributors, and so on. It doesn't work for every project, and maybe it doesn't work here. But, if it does, I'm in.
Thanks!
