Is there any function available that will allow me to view list of references already included in my document for easy review/re-insertion?

Would something like the pane that pops up when you run Organize References work for this?

When I do this same workflow, I just use a second pane that's scrolled to the bottom of my document, where my organized references live. I'm having a hard time picturing what you're looking for that isn't just that, unless you specifically want to store the definitions in scattered places but have a view that groups them for you.

It should already work, when pressing ctrl+space. Just haven't added a auto completion selector, yet.
