Finding the application's appindicator Indicator ID.

Using the GNOME extension Appindicator and KStatusNotifierltem Support, I wanted to change the tray icon to a different icon. But, trying soundux and soundux-tray as the "Indicator ID" doesn't work. I tried to find where the indicator ID is in the source codes, but I couldn't find it.

Can anyone point me to the Indicator ID of this application's appindicator?

That's weird. I tried that but it doesn't work.

After some tries, I found out that changing the tray icon using the extension works with the non-flatpak version. It doesn't work only with the Flatpak version.

I could try researching further, but do you have any idea why it doesn't work in the flatpak version?

No, flatpak is containerized which may be the problem.

You may just want to change the icon the simple way by replacing the icon file located in of these two paths:

Yeah. Maybe you're right.

The extension works with most of Flatpaks on my desktop, though, which bugs me.

I can guess there is a way to list the active appindicators and their Indicator IDs somehow, but the search is rough.

I'll just live with it, for now.

If you know a little c you could probably use libappindicator to list them yeah
